The “Molly and Kai” Book Launch Party
Saturday, March 22, 2008
from 2PM – 5PM
at Roy Arias Theaters inside Times Square Arts Center
300 W. 43rd Street, Studio 500, New York, NY 10036
Live music, fun activities for toddlers, and light refreshments will be provided.
The event is open to children of all ages and their parents or caretakers. Admission is free.
Molly the Blue-Haired Giraffe and Kai the Penguin was developed by Omar Ovalle.
The characters Molly and Kai originated from a song that Omar sung to his newborn son, Kai.
Kai is both Colombian and Japanese, and is currently being raised in a tri-lingual environment.
Omar designed and developed the characters to entertain and educate Kai and other children between 1-4, who live in a multi-lingual environment. The participants will get the first opportunity to get the English/Spanish/Japanese version of the book.
The books will eventually be available in other tri-lingual combinations, based on demand.

FLG designed the film poster for the documentary ATOMIC FLAME. The documentary is about the epic journey of Zen monks who walked across from San Francisco to New Mexico to return the burning embers of Hiroshima from 60 years ago, back to the original atomic bomb testing site at Trinity, New Mexico. Read more about it at the Global Nuclear Disarmament Fund Website.

The Japanese Version was designed with the help of Mercury Project Office.

Announcement from Dell:

FIFTH LINE Group has moved to NY Designs, a design business incubator in Long Island City. It’s faaabulous and we love it here.
We’re having an Independence Day Party tonight – We expect to have a pretty good view of the New York City Macy’s fireworks on the East River from the lounge.
For details, please see the Evite.
We will have a showing of the movie, The Secret for those who have not seen it yet.
ADDRESS:
NY Designs – FLG New Office – at Laguardia College
45-50 30th Street, 7th Floor, Long Island City, NY 11101 US
DIRECTIONS:
NY Designs is in the back of Laguardia College Building C, a large white warehouse building with a huge red sign on top that says IDCNY.
Via 7 Train:
Get off at 45th Road / Court Square. Walk towards the Citibank skyscraper building (the only skyscraper in the neighborhood). In front of Citibank, turn right onto the Courthouse plaza leading to Thomson Ave, and walk on the left side of “Arris Lofts” building (Citibank tower will be behind you) and go across the Thomson Avenue Bridge over the railroad tracks until you get to the corner of 30th street and Thomson Ave. Make a right on 30th street and walk under the scaffolding towards 47th Ave. You will find our door on the right side of the street.
When you’re at the NY Designs door, please press ‘Call’ then ‘14′ so we can buzz you in. Take the gigantic freight elevator to 7th floor. We will be in the lounge, to the left of the reception area, all the way in the back.
Please read the direction in advance, so that you can get here – LIC is a bit different from Manhattan, and you need to know the direction to get here.
DRIVING DIRECTIONS AND USING INTERNET MAPS:
From Manhattan – Take the 59th Street Bridge to Queens Blvd. Turn Right on Van Dam, then Right again on Thomson. Let me off on the far left corner of 30th Street and Thomson.
For Google, Yahoo, or Mapquest maps, you MUST use this address instead of our office address:
31-10 Thomson Avenue
Long Island City, NY 11101
There is a parking lot across the street. Parking on the street is not recommended.
You can also print a map here.

FIFTH LINE Group became a member of Business Networking International.
BNI is the largest international networking organization in the world, where members actively refer business to each other in the spirit of “The more you give, the more you receive.”
Each chapter makes sure that members do not have a competing business, so that you become the ‘Go To Person’ for a particular field or industry.

Omar Ovalle was featured in an article (in Spanish) on El Diario.
The gist of the article (for those of us who no comprende Espanol) is that he talks about the process of starting a company and how FLG got the loan from the Small Business Administration. It’s not easy, but anyone can do it if you try!
